Andrés Manuel López Obrador is a Mexican politician. He is the President-elect of Mexico, set to assume office on 1 December, 2018. He has been Leader of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, from 2 August, 1996 to 10 April, 1999, Head of Government of Mexico City, from 5 December, 2000 to 29 July, 2005, and President of the National Regeneration Movement, from 20 November, 2015 to 12 December, 2017.
President-elect López is the son of merchants Andrés Manuel López Ramón and Manuela Obrador González.
President-elect López is married to Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller. He was previously married to Rocío Beltrán Medina, until her death. He has three children with Rocío, and a son with Beatriz.
President-elect López’s paternal grandfather was Lorenzo López Montalvo (the son of parents surnamed López and Montalvo).
President-elect López’s paternal grandmother was Candelaria Ramón Carrillo (the daughter of parents surnamed Ramón and Carrillo).
