Christian De Sica is an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter. He is the son of prominent Italian director/actor Vittorio De Sica and Spanish actress María Mercader (María Asunción Mercader Forcada).
Christian’s paternal grandparents were Umberto De Sica and Terera Manfredi. They were both of Campanian background.
Christian’s maternal grandparents were Luís Mercader Marina (the son of Narciso Mercader Sacanella and Rita Marina Bringas) and María Salses.
María Mercader’s half-brother, Ramón Mercader, was a Spanish communist who assassinated the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky in 1940 in Mexico.
