Juan Guaidó is a Venezuelan industrial engineer and politician. He has served as Interim President of Venezuela, since 23 January, 2019, though his status is disputed. He has been the Federal Deputy for Vargas, since 5 January 2016, and the 10th President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, since 5 January, 2019.
His father, Wilmer Sixto Guaidó Vidarte, is an airline pilot. His mother, Norka Enid Márquez Frontado, is a teacher. Juan is married to journalist Fabiana Rosales, with whom he has a daughter.
Juan’s paternal grandfather, whose surname was Guaidó, was a sergeant of the Venezuelan national guard.
